Song of the day: Tkien Jah Fakoly "Plus rien ne m'étonne"

This is my favorite song at the moment.

It's from Tiken Jah Fakoly, one of the most popular african artist.

His music is a mix of reggae and african music and he speaks about the sufferings of people in Africa and about the corrupted governments too.

You can read this (short) article about him on Wikipedia

The song of the day is entitled "Plus rien ne m'étonne" which can be translated roughly into "Nothing surprise me anymore"

Life is not always easy in Cameroon

Somehow, during my trip in Cameroon, I couldnt help but notice the similiraties between Cameroon and Cambodia.

Both countries have some beautiful landscapes, some modern cities but also many places where misery is the best word to describe how people live.

Here are some pics took on the fly.

Pictures of Cameroonian Food

Oki, you know I'm into pictures of Food from everywhere.

So, of course, I have some pictures of the good food of cameroon.

I will put the name of the dish (I will use the Cameroonian name and a phonetic orthograph, cuz frankly I have no idea how some name are supposed to be written)

"Ndomba" poulet/Chicken "Ndomba". You have no idea how good this is until you try.

"Sangha". It might not look that attractive, but its one of my favorite dish in cameroon and it's delicious.

I was eatin that all the time. Mum can you bring some when you come in Thailand?

(My bro holdin)The "Top". The national beverage, exist in different "flavors" (read colors, since the main difference between them is the colorant they put inside).

Click on the picture to really size how the "top" bottle looks like

Pictures From Cameroon

Yeah I told you its all about pictures.

Here are few more

Beautiful view, isnt it? Just so you know that Cameroon is not only about dirty streets but do have some beautiful landscapes too.

But the roads dont always have to be nice, do they?

My bro took the picture with this armed military guy, after what he gave him "his beer" (understand 1000FCFA, 1.5€ roughly) this is how it goes on in Cameroon.

Back From Cameroon

Hi back.

I'm back from Cameroon, where I spent almost 3weeks.
It was part of my "Travel-like-hell-these-holidays" thing.

My digital camera was out of batt and, as the clever guy I am, I managed to forget the charger.

So all the pics have been taken by Christine's camera (The gf of my bro).

I might write a couple of posts on Cameroon and the life over there. But for now, it's all about pictures.

What? One have to put the luggages somewhere right?

My bro and the market in the background

Seriously it looks very much like the Russian Market in Pnom Penh.

Dla streets near the market.
